I visited BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham in Robbinsville, New Jersey — one of the largest Hindu temples outside Asia. From the moment I entered the complex, the architecture, carvings, statues, and attention to detail completely surprised me. Akshardham is primarily dedicated to Bhagwan Swaminarayan, and the complex represents Hindu spirituality, culture, art, and devotion. The Mahamandir took around 12 years to complete, and nearly 2 million cubic feet of stone were used in its construction. Thousands of volunteers contributed to creating this incredible place. One thing that stood out to me the most was the craftsmanship. Every pillar, wall, sculpture, and carving seemed to tell a different story. Photography and videography were not allowed inside the main temple, so some parts of the experience can only be felt in person. This visit completely changed the way I look at temple architecture and made me think about how incredible ancient Indian temples must have been to build. 📍 BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham — Robbinsville, New Jersey Watch till the end and let me know what you think about this incredible place. Bhagwan Swaminarayan was a Hindu spiritual leader born in 1781 as Ghanshyam. At age 11, he left home and traveled across India for about seven years as Nilkanth Varni, seeking spiritual knowledge and visiting holy places. He later became known as Swaminarayan and founded the Swaminarayan tradition. He became famous for teaching devotion to God, moral discipline, service, compassion, and a simple spiritual life. His teachings later inspired organizations such as BAPS, which built temples and cultural centers around the world. #Akshardham #Swaminarayan #HinduTemple #NewJersey #BAPS #IndianArchitecture #TempleArchitecture #USA #Travel #IndianCulture
