What does true repentance really mean according to the Bible? Is repentance simply feeling sorry for our sins, or does true biblical repentance involve a genuine change of heart, character, direction, and relationship with God? In this Bible teaching, we study *repentance, the grace of God, faith, unconditional love, holiness, and the character and nature of God* through Scripture. We also explore how understanding who God truly is can transform our inner nature and the way we live. This teaching looks beyond religious terminology to understand what the Bible actually says about **true repentance and God's grace**. BIBLE VERSES DISCUSSED • Jeremiah 8:6 — What genuine repentance looks like • Joel 2:12 — “Return to Me with all your heart” • Isaiah 58:6–7 — Repentance expressed through action and compassion • 2 Corinthians 7:10 — Godly sorrow that produces repentance • 2 Corinthians 7:1 — Perfecting holiness in the fear of God • James 2:17–18 — Faith demonstrated through works • John 14:13–14 — Asking in the name of Jesus • Hebrews 1:3 — Jesus Christ as the exact representation of God's nature • Ephesians 2:8 — Salvation by grace through faith WHAT DOES TRUE REPENTANCE MEAN? Biblical repentance is more than regret or feeling sorry. In this teaching, we examine repentance as a genuine turning of the heart toward God and consider how that change should become visible in our character and actions. UNDERSTANDING THE CHARACTER AND NATURE OF GOD What is God's character? What does the Bible reveal about His nature, disposition, love, holiness, and grace? Hebrews 1:3 reveals something powerful about Jesus Christ and the nature of God. Understanding Christ helps us understand the character of God and how He desires us to live. WHAT IS THE GRACE OF GOD? Ephesians 2:8 teaches that we are saved by grace through faith. But what does grace actually mean? We explore the biblical meaning of God's grace, salvation through faith, and the relationship between grace and spiritual transformation. We also look at the Hebrew and Greek concepts of Chen (חֵן) and Charis (χάρις) and how they help us understand grace, favour, and God's gracious disposition. GOD'S UNCONDITIONAL LOVE Understanding God's love should not simply give us knowledge about God. His love calls us into a deeper relationship with Him and should influence our heart, character, and relationship with others. FAITH AND WORKS James 2:17–18 challenges us to examine genuine faith. How should faith become visible in our lives? What is the relationship between faith, works, grace, and salvation? This Bible study brings these important subjects together: Repentance Grace of God Character of God Nature of God Faith and works God's unconditional love Holiness Salvation by grace through faith Jesus Christ Spiritual transformation Chen and Charis Watch until the end and study these Scriptures with us. Prayerfully consider what the Word of God teaches about repentance, grace, faith, love, holiness, and the character of God.
