First Snowfall (Official Audio)

Original Song Lyrics by Shawn Westerberg Produced by Shawn Westerberg WORDS First Snowfall [Verse 1] You came down the county road with winter in your hair, The whole wide field went quiet when you stepped into the air. Your laugh broke through the dusk like a match against the cold, And every mile I’d wandered found the place it meant to go. [Pre-Chorus] The fence-line wore a silver fringe, The pines stood still and tall; You looked at me, the sky let go— And snow began to fall. [Chorus] First Snowfall, First Snowfall, I want to make love to you during the first snowfall. First Snowfall, First Snowfall, Let the whole world disappear beyond the old stone wall. First Snowfall, First Snowfall, I want to make love to you during the first snowfall. Say you’ll stay till morning calls— First Snowfall, First Snowfall. [Verse 2] Your hand fit mine like a promise neither of us had to name, While flakes made little constellations in the lamplight by the gate. I’ve known the restless weather, the long roads, and the years, But nothing ever quieted my heart the way you did right here. [Pre-Chorus] The dark turned soft around us, The night leaned close to hear; You said my name, and suddenly The far-off world was clear. [Bridge] No grand design, no gilded vow, Just your warm fingers tangled now; A little cabin, the storm outside, Your honest heart beside my side. If time is only borrowed ground, I’ll spend this moment where you’re found. [Guitar Solo] [Final Chorus] First Snowfall, First Snowfall, I want to make love to you during the first snowfall. First Snowfall, First Snowfall, Let the whole world disappear beyond the old stone wall. First Snowfall, First Snowfall, I want to make love to you during the first snowfall. Hold me close through winter’s call— First Snowfall, First Snowfall. I want to make love to you during the first snowfall. First Snowfall! [Outro] When the thaw comes back around, I’ll still remember how it sounded When your heart came close to mine— First snowfall, right on time.
