10 Hours, 3,000m & One Last Cable Car | Shirpala, Tehran

We started this adventure early in the morning from Darband, Tehran, following one of the most beautiful mountain trails north of the city. Our first goal was Shirpala Shelter, about 1,000 metres higher than Darband. We stopped for breakfast around 8:30 in a small mountain café near the rescue station, then continued climbing through the rocky trail toward Shirpala. After around six hours on the trail, we finally reached the shelter, where we took a proper break and had lunch. But the journey wasn't over. After resting, we continued toward Tochal's 5th Station, with another 2.5 hours of hiking ahead of us. By the time we reached the station, we were tired but very happy to have made it. And then came the final challenge: catching one of the last cable cars back down to Tehran. We were lucky enough to make it just in time.
