CVC's Southern Kitchen MASTER COOKBOOK RECIPE # 352 ORANGE SLICE COOKIES Ingredients: 1-1/4 cups light brown sugar, packed 1 cup shortening 3 large eggs 1 tsp vanilla extract 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp baking powder 1 tsp baking soda 1 cup nuts 1 cup chopped orange slice candy Instructions: Add sugar and shortening and beat until creamy. Add eggs and mix well. Add vanilla, salt, baking powder, and soda, then mix well. Gradually add flour (1/2 cup at a time), mixing after each addition. Stir in nuts and candy. Drop by tsp onto a greased cookie sheet and bake at 375°F for 12 minutes. Remove from oven and cool for 3-4 minutes.
