"Share a Dream Come True Parade" was the premier daytime parade at The Magic Kingdom, traversing the route from Frontierland down Main Street, U.S.A.. Originally debuting in October 2001 to anchor the resort’s grand "100 Years of Magic" celebration, the parade was a massive headline attraction throughout 2003 before the concept was modified in 2006. The defining, historic feature of this parade was its technology: it was the first parade where major Disney characters were housed inside giant, rolling acrylic snow globes. 🎭 Parade Summary & The Interactive "Show-Stops" In 2003, the parade was performed in its original, uncut format, which famously included choreographed show-stops along the parade route: • The Introduction: The parade was preceded by a special pre-recorded audio announcement by Hollywood legend Julie Andrews, who welcomed guests and honored the imaginative legacy of Walt Disney. • The Snow Globe Procession: More than 110 cast members rolled down the street accompanying a fleet of massive floats. Inside the giant crystal globes, characters would wave to the audience while an internal mechanism constantly swirled iridescent glitter or snow around them. • The "Pixie Dust" Show-Stop: At specific intervals, the entire parade would halt. The music transitioned into an interactive medley where the street performers and the characters inside the globes would prompt the crowd to join in. On a countdown of "1-2-3," the audience would shout "Pixie Dust!", triggering a blast of confetti and a major dance number. 🚗 The Fleet: Notable Snow Globe Floats The procession used 10 to 12 intricate floats to chronologically tell the history of Disney imagination: • It Was All Started by a Mouse: The opening float featured Mickey Mouse standing inside a giant snow globe designed to look like a vintage camera lens, celebrating his 1928 debut. • Wish Upon a Star: Dedicated to early animation, featuring Pinocchio inside his globe, accompanied by Geppetto, Figment, and Jiminy Cricket dancing on the street. • A World of Fantasy: Highlighting the studio's mid-century stories, this unit featured Winnie the Pooh inside a globe shaped like a honey pot, surrounded by the residents of the Hundred Acre Wood. • The Curse of Evil: Bringing high drama to the route, the Evil Queen stood inside a globe while holding her poisoned apple. During the show-stop, she would dramatically transform into the old hag right before the audience's eyes while villains like Maleficent, Jafar, and Ursula surrounded the float. • A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes: A beautifully romantic float showcasing three individual face-to-face snow globes, each holding a royal couple: Cinderella and Prince Charming, Belle and the Beast, and Ariel and Prince Eric. • As Long as There is Imagination Left in the World: The grand finale featured a crystal castle holding Peter Pan, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck, and Tinker Bell.
