Atebubu Chief Admits Asante Origin, Praises Asantehene

Atebubu Paramount Chief, just before the famous 'Meko Bono' festival, which is to bring many people of the Bono tribe together, unveiled a giant statue of the late warrior and founder of Atebubu town, Nana Ampon Yirenkyi. The current Paramount Chief, known as Ohempon Dr. Yeboah Asiamah, admitted that he and his people are of Asante Saaman origin, a story of history already told by Asantehene, the Occupant of the Golden Stool.
