After Original Dragon Ball concluded, it seemed like Toriyama could have taken the series in any new number of directions, and he picked an odd one indeed. Now Goku's an alien? Whoa! This is a huge shift in the story that definitely warrants being put under a microscope. So huge in fact, it manages to rival the reveal of Goku having a son, Gohan, Goku having a brother, Raditz, and the past atagonist beginning his redemption arc.
