From Belgium to France — Our First Night at Sea! This week, our journey really starts to feel like an adventure. After leaving Belgium, we set course for France and decide to continue sailing through the night. This will be our first proper night sailing, taking turns on watch while sailing towards Cherbourg. During my night watch, I suddenly hear a “man overboard” call on the radio. It’s definitely a strange and slightly scary feeling hearing something like that while you’re out at sea in the middle of the night. And honestly… we’re surprised by how often we hear these kinds of calls. The wind also starts to pick up during the night, so we decide it’s time to put a reef in the sail and make the conditions a little more comfortable. But after sailing through the night, something incredible awaits us on the water… 🌑✨ After 3 days and 2 nights at sea, we finally arrive in Cherbourg, France. 🇫🇷 We’ve made a huge jump south.
