What is life really like on California's beautiful Redwood Coast? Join us for another beautiful day in Humboldt County as we take Mekko out for some much-needed beach time and explore a few of our favorite places on the North Coast. From the historic Victorian town of Ferndale to Table Bluff, the South Jetty, Humboldt Bay, and the rugged Pacific coastline, this is everyday life in one of the most beautiful and fascinating parts of Northern California. We make a stop in Ferndale for one of our favorite hot sauces, then head toward Table Bluff and the South Jetty so Mekko can run, play, and enjoy the beach. Along the way, we take in incredible views of Humboldt Bay and the surrounding Redwood Coast while enjoying one of those perfect late-summer Humboldt County days. But Humboldt County is much more than beautiful beaches and giant redwood trees. Everywhere you go along California's Redwood Coast, there are stories from the past. During our adventure, I talk about the history around Table Bluff and the area's historic lighthouse, as well as my fascination with the mysterious forests of Six Rivers National Forest and the legendary Bigfoot stories connected with Humboldt County and Bluff Creek. My son and I previously had a strange experience while camping in the forest, and while I don't claim to know exactly what we heard that night, the mystery is part of what makes exploring these remote Northern California forests so fascinating. That's one of the things I love most about living here. One day you can be standing on a beautiful Pacific beach, watching paragliders over Table Bluff, and the next you can be deep in the mountains exploring remote forest roads and the legendary wilderness of Bigfoot Country. This channel is all about sharing what life is like in Humboldt County through our family's eyes. We love exploring the Redwood Coast, learning about the history of Northern California, spending time outdoors, camping in the Six Rivers National Forest, and sharing the hidden places that make this part of California so unique.
