Welp, it got worse again...
For the 3rd Wednesday of January, we decided to check on the Auglaize Township 'bolt since we could faintly hear it in the distance during our failed attempt at Charloe the week prior, and it sounded like the pitch was fluctuating more than it was when we previously recorded it last August. It was extremely cold on this day, with windchills around 3-4°F at the time this was filmed. As you can probably tell, the slip ring issues have become much more apparent with the frigid cold. The way the pitch fluctuates as it rotates reminds me a lot of the 1003 in Freeburg, IL. It's still definitely not as bad as it was before it was worked on, but it also still isn't particularly the healthiest 'bolt out there. Hopefully, they eventually get this one fully fixed, as I would love to hear it at its best.
On our way here, we put an audio recorder in Charloe to see if its failure from the week prior to this was a fluke, and sure enough, it did activate this time, so be sure to check that audio out as well. Enjoy!
