I am going to start thinking...every time I put something online..."Is this something that makes me proud to be a part of the internet." I think, especially in elections years in the U.S. there's a sense that winning is more important than, like, not being terrible. And yes, the stakes are very high, but when I talk to friends and they say "It doesn't matter if it's true if it is in pursuit of the right outcome" I just can't be a part of that. My whole life on the internet can't be about achieving goals, it has to be about being a part of something, because I'm a human being first.
