HERE WE HAVE NO CONTINUING CITY Revelation 21:1-4 2 Peter 3:1-7 Revelation 1:10 85 “The day, what do you call it the man’s day for?” you would say. It’s the day that the works by the knowledge of man is glorified. Look what, all the brag of the communists, somebody trying to get somebody to the moon. God is trying to get somebody to Heaven. See? But look how they’re spending millions and billions and trillions of dollars, in a wasted effort. When they get there, they ain’t going to find nothing. What’s the matter with them? I don’t care about the moon. I want to pass the moon so fast I won’t even see it; just keep going higher. I want to pass the Milky White Way, go on, just keep going. Yes! 86 And the world today is dedicating themselves to the knowledge which came by Satan. And man’s day is glorified, not by the Word of God, but by the knowledge that he has. Now think. Let that soak in. And when you play this tape back, on this point here, stop for a while and think. His works are exalted above God’s Word and manifested works; the wisdom of Satan, which he give to Eve at the beginning. Now listen; don’t miss this. The wisdom of Satan is exalted to the throne of worship, in man, above the vindicated Word of God for the hour. Our churches proves that by their—their seminaries, schools of learning, that’s learnt more than God’s Word knows about It, they think. And there, Doctor So-and-so, and Teacher So-and-so, and Professor So-and-so has exalted their own knowledge, so-called (from Satan) truth, above the vindicated promise of God, made clear right before them. And man fall for it. See? 87 His scientific achievements, trying to prove God’s Word wrong. Just think of that. He, his, that is, the man’s theology, explains God’s Word to the people, and makes It of no effect again, like he had it in the denominational age when Jesus appeared on the earth. Jesus said, “You hypocrites! You, by your tradition,” that’s their interpretation, “has took the Word of God and made It of no effect to the people.” And that’s the same thing they’ve done today. It doesn’t have the effect. 65-0801M - The God Of This Evil Age 95 It was David, and went up through the streets, a crying, rejected king; and set up on the mountain, weeping over Jerusalem. That wasn’t David. The Son of David, a few hundred years after that, set on the same hill and wept because He was rejected King among His Own people. It’s Christ, always. And, today, when it’s prophesied that Christ must come into the camp, you know what happened? It’ll be just exactly like it was then. It’s got to be that way, to fulfill what the Word here promises He’ll do. 96 Now remember, Christ was in the age of Noah. That was Christ, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever,” the rejected Word of the hour. 97 Notice, and His prophecy of Revelation 3, found, when He come in this last day, as He prophesied He would come in this last day. And how did He find the church at Laodicea? “Rich, have need of nothing.” “And set as a queen and can see no sorrow.” “And put Him outside the church,” had no use for Him. He went without the camp again. But then she didn’t know that she was naked, blind, and miserable; and knew it not. 64-0719E - Going Beyond The Camp 55 So as long as we are trying in ourselves and depending on our own abilities, and so forth, well, we’ll do nothing. But when we get to a place where we know we’re nothing, then God can use us. 56 The important thing, one of the important things that we must master…Now remember this, and especially you young preachers, and lay members alike. There’s one thing that we’ve got to master if we expect to fulfill God’s desire in our life, that is, we have to master the thought of human ability. If we ever get to a spot where we think that we can do it with our own intelligence and our own abilities, we’ve got to master that in such a way that we can get rid of the thing and lay it aside so that God can use us. That’s right. 61-1119 - Perfect Strength By Perfect Weakness Now let’s get back to our Scripture. We know what the Lord’s Day is not. If it is not Saturday or Sunday, what is it? Well, let’s put it this way. Today is certainly not the Lord’s Day. This is man’s day. It is man’s doing, man’s work, man’s church, man’s idea of worship, man’s everything, for it is man’s world (cosmos). BUT THE DAY OF THE LORD IS COMING. Yes, it is.
