GITSCHEN: The Most Iconic Summit Above Lake Uri | T5 Alpine Hike 🏔️💎

Standing tall above the deep blue waters of Lake Uri. 🏔️✨ Known as "Der Wächter am Urnersee" (The Guardian of Lake Uri), the Gitschen (2,513 m) is one of the most striking peaks in Central Switzerland. Its unique shape and massive vertical drop down to the village of Flüelen make it a bucket-list destination for every alpine enthusiast. Our journey started in the remote village of Isenthal, taking the small mountain road to Chlital and then heading up to the beautiful Musenalp. From there, the real adventure begins: a challenging but well-secured T5 alpine hike. With steel chains, airy ridges, and the mighty Uri Rotstock as our neighbor, every step towards the summit was pure alpine gold. The reward at the top is a 360-degree panorama over the Reusstal, the entire Urnersee, and the rugged peaks of Canton Uri.
