[Smash Legends] Slip of Hand

JLV, SUCKA! This whole video was edited by me, and only me this time. At this point I don't even need to say who made the thumbnail, it's obviously the majestic black belt Lobera, he's basically the official thumbnail department of this channel, so once more, my eternal gratitude for yet another banger. The description includes more fun facts about the making of the video. Zepetta became my favorite character, and I'd been wanting to make a video about her for a long time. I love the versatility she offers, and combined with the countless bugs she has, it makes her really fun to play. Unfortunately, as always, the developers keep nerfing and removing things that are completely harmless and super fun, but even so, she still has a huge kit with a ton of variety. The idea of making a Zepetta video started way back in 2024, when the first season of Dandadan came out. The opening song, "Otonoke" by Creepy Nuts, was phenomenal, and the anime had this character, Turbo Granny, who reminded me a lot of Zepetta, so I wanted to make something that captured that vibe using that song. My friend Laphi, who helps me with my edits, started working on the initial idea, but we soon realized the song just wasn't going to fit the vibe and the clips that well, so the project ended up shelved for a while. Then in 2025 I wanted to bring it back, and since I was listening to Joey Valence & Brae a lot, I thought their vibe would match perfectly with what I wanted to do. If you don't know them, they have this unique style that feels straight out of the 90s/2000s, and they love shouting "JVB, SUCKA!", hence the very original intro of this description. And no, the "JLV" up there is not a typo. It's a joke maybe two people on the planet will get, and honestly, I'm not even sure about those two. My plan was to use only 2 or 3 of their songs, but these guys really know how to make music, and every time I thought I was about to finish the video, I wanted to edit more. I ended up using around 5 or 6 different songs, all mixed up and edited my usual way. After more than a year of back and forth, editing, getting tired, thinking I was almost done, but still having tons of Zepetta clips and way too much will to edit, I finally finished it. The whole idea is that each part of the video has a different editing style and vibe, always based on something I've seen before, making fun of some styles and throwing in jokes, with, obviously, my usual touch. A lot of the stuff I do in the video is pretty well known nowadays. I believe the visual bug with Zepetta's ult + skill is known as Genjutsu Uppercut, but there are several variations of it. Since that name is already famous, we might as well keep the "genjutsu" family going: the version with the aerial attack becomes Genjutsu Drill, and the one on the ground, without jumping, which is the same idea just in reverse, becomes Genjutsu Hammer and Genjutsu Jab. Personally though, I prefer swapping the "Genjutsu" for "Phantom", same moves, different name, but hey, call them whatever you want. And the "Sledge" I mention in the video is when Zepetta attacks while falling onto a ledge and slides, so I just combined the two words: slide + ledge = sledge. As for the title, "Slip of Hand" comes from a few different things. "Slip" comes from slippery, because in a lot of the plays in this video I'm being really slippery. It's also a wordplay on "sleight of hand", the magician's trick, since magic is all about illusion, and most of the bugs I pull off are illusory, purely visual ones. And the "hand" part also ties into "NO HANDS" by JVB, so it all comes together, more or less. Hope you have as much fun watching it as I had (eventually) making it!
