Sheli Myers & Dariel Bishai | recorded LIVE at Yuval Arts | Send Forth Your Light | שלח אורך

“Send Forth Your Light” is a song written by Sheli Myers 30 years ago, and over the years it has become a meaningful part of the soundtrack for many in the communities of believers throughout Israel. In this version, Sheli sings the song together with her daughter, Dariel, creating a special connection between generations - between words and a melody written many years ago and the faith and life we continue to experience today. How moving it is to discover that David’s words, written thousands of years ago, still express so accurately the longing in our hearts - that God would send His light and truth, lead us, guide our steps, and be present even in the midst of the complex reality of our lives. Sheli dedicated this melody to the communities of believers throughout Israel, with the prayer that this song would be so much more than music - that it would become a shared prayer. We pray that God would send His light and truth over the people of Israel, over the communities, over families, and over each one of us. May He guide us in His ways, give us wisdom, hope, and peace, and remind us to lift our eyes to Him and ask Him to light the way.
