Led first by Ferdinand Magellan, then by Juan Sebastián Elcano, it was the sole survivor of five ships that set sail from Seville — proving the world could be circled by sea. This faithful replica was built in Spain in 1991, and even completed its own global voyage between 2004–2006 — the first modern historical replica ever to do so.
