In 2021, General Motors told Chevy Bolt owners not to park their cars in their own garages. By the end, GM had recalled every Bolt it ever built — about 142,000 cars — at a cost of nearly $2 billion. The battery supplier, LG, publicly agreed to cover almost all of it. But two years later, GM's own financial filings told a different story. In this episode of Out of Warranty, we break down how two tiny manufacturing defects inside LG's battery cells led to one of the biggest EV recalls in history, why GM's "final" software fix didn't hold up, and who actually ended up paying for it. 💬 Would you have trusted GM's software fix, or kept your Bolt parked on the street?
