The Cowboy Rides Away – George Strait | Full Band Cover

“The Cowboy Rides Away” by George Strait has always been one of my favorite classic-country songs, and for this Studio Session, I wanted to give it the full-band treatment. This is our take on the George Strait classic, recorded with a full band and featuring the rhythm and lead guitar parts that make this style of country music so much fun to play. 🎸 And this time, I’m going to break the song down from several different angles. Over the next few lessons on Everything I Know Guitar Coach, I’ll use “The Cowboy Rides Away” to show you how to approach the same song at different skill levels—from a straightforward rhythm part, to more advanced country rhythm playing, and eventually the lead guitar parts. You don’t have to be a lightning-fast guitar player to play great country guitar. A lot of what makes country guitar sound good comes down to timing, phrasing, tasteful fills, and knowing what to play—and what not to play. So if you’d like to learn how to play this song, or you just want to become a better country guitar player, subscribe and follow along. The lessons are coming next. And let me know in the comments: what classic-country song would you like to hear us do next? #GeorgeStrait #TheCowboyRidesAway #ClassicCountry #CountryMusic #CountryGuitar
