Victoria Needs Reform, Fix Spending & Rebuild, Restore State Services | Hon Peter Costello

At the launch of the IPA’s ‘Economic Prosperity Initiative’, the former Treasurer of Australia argues Victoria can only recover from its debt, waste and weakened public services through sustained reform. The long road back will require spending restraint, an end to sweetheart union deals, lower taxes, and a more competitive business environment. Above all, state government must refocus on its core responsibilities: delivering reliable roads, policing, schools, hospitals and affordable energy.
