Chasing the Lost Coast | Episode 1

The Lost Coast Adventure has officially made its way into the Lines to Legends video series, presented by onX Offroad. In Episode 1, we leave San Diego behind and begin the long journey north in search of cooler weather, remote campsites, and one of California’s most legendary stretches of coastline. Along the way, we make a stop at the historic Misión San Miguel Arcángel, founded by Franciscan missionaries in the 1700s, before continuing toward the coast. We eventually find an incredible campsite somewhere in Los Padres National Forest, perched above the Pacific with epic ocean views—the perfect place to slow down, set up camp, and make some seriously good pizza. From there, we continue chasing the route north, driving through the beautiful landscapes of Mendocino County until we reach one of the highlights of the trip: Usal Beach Campground. Tucked away along California’s rugged Lost Coast, Usal becomes home for the next two nights. We camp just steps from the Pacific, explore the coastline, enjoy camp life, and take in everything that makes this part of California so special.
