Disciples of who? by Julie Smith Sunday 30th August 2026

Julie talked about Jesus, looking at who we are disciples of. We started listing words to describe Jesus and quickly ran out of paper! We looked at 3 aspects of Jesus life that we are to copy - He showed deep care for those excluded or rejected by society. We are called to go towards those on the margins. He was happy to be called unclean and to stand against religion. We carry the kingdom of God, the presence of God with us, we can trust in His power to change atmospheres around us. He stayed connected to His Father. Jesus went off to pray alone, how much more do we need to do that? When we are connected with God we can go into situations confident of His love, presence and power with us. As disciples we are to become like our Master, so this week, spend time with Jesus, read the gospels, listen to Him and commit to walk as He did, with His help and grace.
