In the final episode of #ProjectBridgeview, we continue from Chang La and travel deeper into the landscapes that make Ladakh unlike anywhere else in the country.
From the high-altitude roads around Chang La, our journey takes us towards Pangong Lake, passing through Tsoltak and Durbuk along the way.
We travel through remote mountain settlements, follow roads carved through some of the most difficult terrain in the Himalayas, and experience the changing landscape as we move between high passes, valleys and villages.
We also make our way through Leh, where the scale of the journey begins to feel different.
The quiet mountain roads give way to the movement and everyday life of the city, before we head towards Khardung La, one of the most well-known high-altitude mountain passes in the region.
Along the way, we stop at places that have become part of the identity of Ladakh, including Magnetic Hill, before continuing through the landscape towards Pangong Lake.
But this final episode is not only about the places we travelled through.
It is about what the entire journey taught us about infrastructure.
Across Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, we saw that building in difficult terrain is rarely about simply putting up a structure. Roads have to follow mountains.
Bridges have to cross deep valleys. Tunnels have to move through rock. Construction has to adapt to altitude, weather, geology and remoteness. And once something is built, keeping it connected and operational can be just as difficult.
From the Chenab Bridge and Anji Khad to tunnels, highways, roads and the high-altitude infrastructure of Ladakh, Project Bridgeview took us across some of the most challenging landscapes in India.
But more than the structures themselves, this journey allowed us to meet the landscapes, communities and people behind them. It showed us the scale of what is being built, the conditions in which it is being built, and the quiet amount of planning, engineering and persistence required to make connectivity possible.
When we began Project Bridgeview, the idea was simple: to travel, document and understand the infrastructure shaping some of the world's most demanding landscapes.
After travelling across Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, we leave with a much deeper understanding of what that actually means.
Infrastructure is not just concrete, steel, roads or bridges.
It is the ability to connect a place that was once difficult to reach. It is the road that remains open when the landscape wants it closed. It is the bridge that crosses a valley, the tunnel that cuts through a mountain, and the people who make all of it possible.
And sometimes, to understand what it takes to build something, you have to travel the road yourself.
This is where our journey ends.
Thank you for travelling with us through Project Bridgeview.
Welcome to the final chapter.
