Building the Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant

Water has shaped WA’s story from the very beginning. But climate change and our growing population are putting pressure on this valuable resource. We need a new water source to meet this growing demand. To reduce our dependence on rainfall and groundwater, we are building the Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant (ASDP) to help provide secure, sustainable drinking water. The ASDP Stage 1 plant will supply 50 billion litres of drinking water a year.
