The trail follows the historic railway through the heart of Sri Lanka's hill country before leading into a picturesque forest. Every step offers stunning views, fresh mountain air, and the peaceful sounds of nature, making the journey just as memorable as the destination. Galboda Ella is formed by the Galboda Canal (Hanguranketha River) and flows year-round thanks to the region's exceptionally high rainfall. Standing about 30 metres high, the waterfall changes character with the seasons, sometimes splitting into two graceful streams. The surrounding forest is rich in biodiversity, home to rare orchids and several endemic reptile species, making it an ecological treasure as well as a scenic attraction.
