Elena Brooks only wanted one thing before the final hours of her eleven-year prison sentence ran out. She wanted to see the detective who had put her behind bars. Instead of asking for family or clergy, she requested Detective Marcus Hale—the very man who had arrested her for a murder she insisted she didn't commit. But Elena wasn't asking to see him for forgiveness. And she wasn't planning to beg. What Hale didn't know was that the woman he'd spent eleven years trying to forget was about to say one name that could change everything he believed about the case. As the detective returns to the prison, an old case begins to crack open, and a secret buried for eleven years threatens to come back with it.
