Jermont Reece is building something special in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
The undefeated professional boxer and head coach of Kzoo Boxing joins me for Episode 12 of The KG Show to talk about building his gym from the ground up, making the jump from amateur to professional boxing, and developing the next generation of fighters.
We get into his journey from training fighters in a basement to opening a new 4,000-square-foot facility, the challenges of running a boxing gym while competing professionally, and the success of standout amateur Evan Jackson.
We also talk about amateur boxing judging, what separates national-level competitors, and whether fighters are born or made.
Jermont is currently 2-0 as a professional, and he's got big plans for both his boxing career and Kzoo Boxing.
