More AI doesn’t always mean better… but Comet surprised me.

I’ve been exploring Comet by Perplexity, and it’s actually pretty interesting. At first, I thought, “Okay, another AI browser.” But after trying its different features, I started seeing why people are talking about it. The thing I like most is that it’s not just about searching the web. You can use Assistant Mode to ask questions about what you’re currently looking at, get things explained, summarize pages, rewrite text, and help with everyday browser tasks. Then there’s Deep Research, which is useful when a normal Google-style search just isn’t enough. You can give it a topic and let it go through different sources and put the information together for you. Projects are helpful when you're working on something for a longer period. Instead of having everything scattered around, you can keep related research and conversations together. I also found Artifacts interesting because they let you turn an idea or information into something more useful and interactive rather than just getting another block of text. Then you have Skills, which basically let you give Comet more specialized capabilities depending on what you're trying to do. And Connectors are another useful part. You can connect tools and services you already use, so your AI workflow doesn't have to stay inside the browser. There are also smaller features that make everyday browsing easier, like selecting text and asking AI to explain, summarize, translate, or rewrite it. So for me, the interesting part isn't simply: “Comet has AI.” A lot of tools have AI now. It's more about having search, research, browsing and AI assistance together in one workflow. I'm still exploring it, but there are definitely some features here that could save a lot of time. Have you tried Comet yet?
