SIRS vs Sepsis vs Severe Sepsis Vs Septic Shock

SIRS :systemic inflammatory response syndrome ,needs 2 out of 4 temp. more than 38 or less than 36 WBCs count more than 12000 or less than 4000 or more than 10% bands respiratory rate more than 20 sepsis : SIRS plus infection severe sepsis : sepsis plus end organ damage septic shock: life threatening medical emergency with very high mortality rate if not controlled rapidly when sepsis associated with severe hypotension and not responding to vasoconstrictor plus multiorgan failure and elevated level of lactate proper management for Sepsis : blood culture and IV-AB FOR septic shock : correct blood pressure by :fluids or blood ,vasoconstrictor correct infection by IV-AB Continuous monitoring in ICU
