#linksgolf #gaming #golf #golfsim #pga #pgatour #spyglass This is a series dedicated to the designers that keep putting out these amazing courses. They keep this game alive. Thank you for all the great work you do. Every week I’ll be featuring 3 courses from one designer. Videos will be posted on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Spyglass Hill: https://linkscorner.org/courses/cours... Designer: Eddie Schmidt- https://linkscorner.org/courses/index... Location: CA Par: 72 Length: 6862 Style: Ocean The round: If I was asked to pick a course to play between Pebble Beach or Spyglass Hill, I would pick Spyglass. I’ve always thought it was the better of the two, looks and design. As for the round. I played well considering the difficult Pins. These greens do not forgive if you are on the wrong end of the pin. The Course: The Greatest Meeting of Sand and Trees If Pebble Beach is the Greatest Meeting of Land and Sea, then perhaps Spyglass Hill should be dubbed the Greatest Meeting of Sand and Trees. The defining takeaway at Spyglass Hill is how starkly the first five holes juxtapose the rest of your round. Sweeping ocean views with holes darting through a daring dunescape give way to the understated natural beauty and brawn of the Del Monte Forest. Pine Valley-by-the-Sea meets Augusta National, as Sports Illustrated eloquently described it. As an annual co-host of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, as well as a stroke-play venue for a pair of U.S. Amateur Championships (1999 and 2018), Spyglass Hill’s championship pedigree has been validated by the game’s very best. https://www.pebblebeach.com/golf/spyg... Designer’s Notes: A word of thanks to the many people who helped on this Project, I have to start off with this guy-----Dlunatic, {IMO APCD's best graphics guy by far, no cut on any others but he's a pro} has made so many textures for me, till we came up with the right look for the course, Those are most of his textures on the course, and I thought he came across with another Splendid Panorama and some real sweet looking tourney stuff custom made or altered from others. If I didn’t like the look of the final Spyglass Hill it would have hit the trash bin, also thanks for the rock/wave texture, and ideas on the Ocean, I don't think you'll hear the word groundbreaking though, they are reserved for the few. Thanks again Dave:-) Others of note, Firehead, one of my favorite designers} who helps me work through problems sometimes thanks for the logo also, spoon fed me the building from terrain till I had it right, plus beta tested. Mick" rehit" Pendergrast for taking his time to host & post my beta' s for me. Matt Henry PGA designer of Spyglass who came across with some objects and pics plus valuable feedback on beta testing. Josh Perkins a local who plays Spyglass thanks for answering my sometimes moronic questions in an attempt to find realism, Lars Rudbeck who I hope will beta test for me in the future, thanks for the pics on troublesome spots Lars, that was real easy to follow. Brain Silvernail for his objects and beta testing and showing me what a class guy he is, Mike J for the lovely textures and sharing his making trick that made the Iceplants on the beach show up from further than 150 yards, Roger "Gator" Worsham for the great looking hole prevues, wonderful sounds, and beta testing. Crusader with his eye for planting pointing a few things out to me during beta testing. Thanks to doug at Linksgolfnews for putting up with me, the good reading and hosting my pics, Also thanks To Ian Downs of Linkscorner for hosting my pics and being a gentleman. Beta testers who contributed and helped,, Freddieb, Jim Wood, Kevin Fraser-Thanks Kev for everything else too:-),Jim Burns, Cartpath, Loner who straightened me out with a few pics, Clive Ellison-TW or PGA designer who sent a boat load of pics to me, Fourputt, Adam Helli who kept me on my toes with some issues.
