British Airways BA295 Emergency: 7700 Squawk Over Ireland Days After Flydubai Incident | LIVE | N18G

British Airways Flight BA295 from London Heathrow to Chicago O’Hare declared a general emergency while flying over Ireland on October 5, with flight-tracking data showing the aircraft squawking 7700 and descending from around 37,000 feet to approximately 9,000 feet. The Boeing 777 subsequently appeared to turn back towards London Heathrow. The exact cause of the emergency has not yet been confirmed by British Airways. The incident comes just days after the dramatic Flydubai FZ1073 cockpit incident, in which the co-pilot allegedly attacked the captain during a Dubai-to-Tel Aviv flight. The aircraft made a severe descent over Saudi Arabia before passengers and crew regained control and the plane landed safely in Tabuk. UAE authorities have described that incident as a terrorist attack, while the investigation continues. The Flydubai case has triggered wider questions about aviation security, including how the Omani co-pilot was allowed to operate flights despite earlier concerns raised in Oman. Israel has since ordered tighter security checks for pilots flying into the country. There is currently no indication that the BA295 emergency is connected to the Flydubai incident. The comparison is being made because both incidents involve major in-flight emergencies and come within days of each other. The cause of the BA295 emergency remains unclear. #BA295 #BritishAirways #BritishAirwaysEmergency #BA295Emergency #LondonChicago #FlightEmergency #7700 #Ireland #Heathrow #Chicago #AviationNews #BreakingNews CNN-News18 is your trusted source for breaking news, updates, and in-depth analysis from around the world.
