बामाखेपा मां तारा के परम भक्त थे. इनका जन्म पश्चिम बंगाल अंतर्गत बीरभूम जिले के आटला गांव में हुआ था. यह जगह तारापीठ से साढे़ 3 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर स्थित है. तारापीठ जाने वाले श्रद्धालु इस गांव में पहुंचते हैं तथा बामाखेपा के जन्मस्थान को देखना नहीं भूलते हैं. Bamakhepa was a great devotee of Mother Tara. He was born in Atla village of Birbhum district under West Bengal. This place is located at a distance of 3 and a half kilometers from Tarapith.
