No longer slaves of sin - Romans 6:1-14

What does the grace of God actually mean for the way we live? If we have been forgiven by grace, does that mean we can simply continue living in sin? Paul’s answer in Romans 6 is emphatic: “Certainly not!” Grace does not give sin permission to rule us. Grace breaks sin’s power over us. In this message, Pastor Raf takes us through Romans 6:1-14 and shows how the gospel changes not only our destination, but our identity. Through our union with Christ, we have died to sin and been raised to new life. The old master may still call, temptation may still come, and we may still stumble, but sin no longer has the right to reign over us. We are not fighting for freedom, we are fighting from freedom. Pastor Raf highlights three important responses from Romans 6: know, reckon, and present. 1- Know what Jesus has accomplished. 2- Reckon, or believe, that what God says about you is true, even when your feelings say otherwise. 3- Present your whole life to God, because you have been bought, forgiven, redeemed and made alive in Christ. Christianity is not about dead people simply becoming better behaved. It is about dead people being made alive in Christ. “For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.” Romans 6:14. If you have ever felt trapped by old habits, patterns or sin, this message is a powerful reminder: the old master may still call you, but you don't belong to him anymore.
