Louis St Laurent in 3D HD

Several groups of Design 20/30 students collaborated in this LSL 3D project. Credit given students is at the end of the video. This project is led by Mrs Trang Luong of CTS Department at Louis St Laurent. Completing this project is an adventure for LSL Design students. The initial group of 2 students searched for the original blueprint to get the dimension of the school. Then they use the laser measurement tool to measure the height of the wall. It is difficult to get the accurate appearance of the school from the bird eye view. We did it the hard way before we found out that Google Earth can provide helpful information. It's a big learning curve for the students. The second semester students were divided into groups to complete 4 floors individually. Within each floor, students can choose to design the hallway or the classrooms. Unique areas such as gym, computer labs, grad hall of fame, office and etc were highlighted. First and second floor of each wing are joined afterwards. The computer can't handle when the students tried to join of the 2 wings to make a complete school. The project were left incomplete and being picked up by other Design students in the next year. These students refined further the details of the building by adding texture, graphics and etc. Time was short for them. On the 4th semester, the last 2 students picked this projects. They had to match up everything together and did the animation. Just before I thought everything is done, the main area including the big gym, fitness centre, courtyard, general office, CTS area (construction lab, computer lab, studio and CTS office) crashed. The file is not corrupted but it can't be opened on any computer. This is the end of it. I've tried to put together an animation from whatever we have.
