A saved part of our Voyager 1 live stream: 27 Oct 2026, 20:51–08:18 UTC. The stream itself continues live here:    / @curiositykillsdaily   Voyager 1 is the furthest away anything human-made has ever been. This stream shows how far, right now. The number is not a recording and it is not an animation. It is computed continuously from NASA/JPL's Horizons ephemeris and redrawn every frame, so it advances while you watch it. The spacecraft has been leaving for forty-nine years and it has not stopped. Put it on and leave it running. Nothing here starts or ends. There is no narration, no sudden cut, no jump. The picture drifts, the sound holds, and the only thing that changes is the distance — slowly enough to fall asleep to, steadily enough to work through. ──────────────────── ONE HOUR ABOARD IT The same dark, without the counter — an hour aboard the spacecraft this stream is tracking. No talking.    • Aboard Voyager 1 | Deep Space Ambient Musi...   ──────────────────── THE HOURS Long pieces from the same channel, for when you want a beginning: aboard the spacecraft, the long dark, wind and slow rain on Titan, under the ice of Europa — and now Voyager 1's whole journey in three hours, from the launch pad to the day it becomes one light-day from Earth. One playlist, the stream last, so it never ends.    • Deep Space Ambient Music for Sleep — Voyag...   Newest: Voyager 1: One Light-Day From Earth (3 Hours) —    • Voyager 1: One Light-Day From Earth | Deep...   WHAT YOU ARE WATCHING Kilometres from Earth, live from the JPL ephemeris The same distance in astronomical units and in light-hours One-way light time: how long a signal takes to reach it The countdown to 18 November 2026, when that light time reaches a full day: Voyager 1 one light-day from Earth How fast it is receding, in km/s. This rises and falls across the year, because Earth is moving too Mission elapsed time since launch on 5 September 1977 Round-trip light time: send a signal now, and this is how long until a reply could come back FOR SLEEP, STUDY AND DEEP WORK No talking and no narration. A slow, deep ambient sound over deep-space imagery, made to sit in the background for hours rather than to be watched. A NOTE ON THE NUMBERS The distance comes from the published trajectory solution, interpolated between hourly points. The figure is shown to the kilometre because that is the resolution of the table - not because anyone knows where Voyager 1 is to within a kilometre. Real tracking uncertainty is far larger. IMAGERY NASA archive photography - JPL Photojournal and astronaut photography from the International Space Station. SOURCE AND ATTRIBUTION Range and range-rate: NASA/JPL Horizons. Imagery: NASA/JPL-Caltech. This is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by NASA or JPL. ──────────────────── This stream runs around the clock. A few times a day it continues as a new live video, so every part is saved and can be watched again. The live page always shows the current one:    / @curiositykillsdaily
