Civitavecchia to Rome by Train | Our Honest Virgin Voyages Port Day

Come along as we travel from Civitavecchia to Rome during our Virgin Voyages cruise! 🇮🇹🚆 Instead of booking a cruise-line excursion, we purchased train tickets and made the approximately 1.5-hour journey into Rome on our own. Once there, we explored the city aboard a hop-on hop-off bus, saw the Colosseum and took in some incredible views—but the crowds, hectic train station and limited time made this our least favorite port day of the cruise. After returning to the ship, we ended the day with dinner and wine at Extra Virgin, followed by a much-needed couples massage at the spa. Would we visit Rome again? Maybe; but next time, we would do a few things differently.
