Maturing Into Responsibility - Pastor Tumelo Mushi

The church has a responsibility. In this message Pastor Tumelo Mushi opens Romans 15 to show us that the congregation carries a God given responsibility toward the servants of God and toward one another. The apostles of Christ needed the church to be involved and that need has never changed. There are seasons when administration flows from the pastor to the believer and the congregation matures to carry what the leader once carried alone. That is the church growing up into its purpose. As believers we have a right to one another's lives. We are one family under Christ and how we live affects everyone around us. Fellowship is a privilege and a responsibility. Correction in love builds the family. Encouragement strengthens what God is doing in each other. Everything in the church needs to be covered and the congregation is called to mature into that covering. That responsibility extends beyond the walls of the church into the community, into the marketplace and into the next generation. The righteous person in a position of influence can take care of people through generosity and governance. We are called to learn to preach Christ in systems, to take up positions that benefit the family of God and to manage wealth with kingdom purpose. We are called to think of the next generation and to frame a lasting legacy in Christ.
