Kenya’s political landscape is shifting as new political parties emerge and leaders prepare for the 2027 General Election. But what does this mean for the future of the Linda Movement, party rebranding, and political competition? On this episode of The Powerplay, we discuss the proposed rebranding of the Linda Movement, its association with the Equitable Party (T.E.), political party registration, and the legal and logistical challenges of preparing for the next General Election. Our discussion also explores the rising cost of by-elections, the role of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), and whether political leaders should resign from their current positions before the end of their terms. We also hear from an aspiring Member of the County Assembly (MCA) about his plans for better representation, improved water supply, support for local businesses, public participation, youth engagement, and transparent leadership in Machakos County.
