WNYC and Apollo Theater present: MLK, The Inconvenient King

On this Martin Luther King Jr. Day, join WNYC’s Kai Wright, Michael Hill and Brian Lehrer for the 18th annual celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in a live-streamed MLK special. In collaboration with the Apollo Theater and March on Washington Film Festival, this year’s event, “The Inconvenient King” examines the history of the word "woke" in the context of Dr. King’s work to build awareness, action and urgency around injustice and discrimination. Join Kai Wright, host of Notes from America — a WNYC Studios’ national call-in radio show and podcast about the unfinished business of our history and its grip on our future — along with Michael Hill, host of WNYC’s Morning Edition; Brian Lehrer, host of The Brian Lehrer Show; and WQXR host Terrance McKnight, creator and host of Every Voice with Terrance McKnight.
