Join me on a short train journey from Mysore (Mysuru) to Nanjangud aboard the Mysore–Nanjangud Passenger. We’ll follow the railway line out of Mysore, enjoy the views from the train, and arrive in Nanjangud for a visit to one of Karnataka’s well-known temples. Train no: 56206 After the train ride, we’ll explore Sri Srikanteshwara Swamy Temple, also known as Nanjundeshwara Temple. It stands on the banks of the Kapila River, also called the Kabini, which is a tributary of the Kaveri. Nanjangud is often called Dakshina Kashi, or the Kashi of the South.
