Open Up Your Eyes (“My Little Pony Movie”) - Twilight’s Villain Song

Story: What if Twilight was convinced by Tempest’s backstory…and decided to join her, convinced that friendship had failed her? Art credit: 1Jaz on DeviantArt Lyrics: [Intro] [Verse 1] It’s time they learned a lesson It’s time that they understand I’ll never count on anypony else In this or any other land I was the princess of friendship, Striving to be good and kind But friendship failed me in the end Oh, I was so damn blind [Chorus] Open up your eyes This is where I choose to stand Me among the mighty, You’re hunted by my command Open up your eyes Give up your pathetic dream land It’s time to lie down and just die Come now, comrades Open up your eyes [Verse 2] I was your very best friend, Until you proved that it doesn’t pass Outside of Equestria, Friendship is just a laugh So then there came a moment When I met Tempest face to face She said, “If you can’t depend on yourself, You’ll never find your place” [Interlude] [Bridge] So as I took that first step Upon a path of my own She showed it to me so clearly The best way to get by is all alone [Final Chorus] Open up your eyes This is where I choose to stand Me among the mighty, You’re caged at my command Open up your eyes I am through with the lies It’s time to lie down and just die Come now, comrades Open up your eyes [Outro] Open up your eyes!
