Swing dancing class recap: Unusual catches & connections (Intermediate level)

This week we had some fun playing with unusual ways of catching or connecting with our partner. We're all familiar with the standard way of connecting (closed position and open position). But there's so many more ways to lead and follow fun and interesting moves! We played with a variation on a tuck turn to open where the lead's left hand takes the follow's left hand for a super fun redirection with a lovely elastic feeling. Then we looked at an exciting variation where the lead gives the follow extra oomph by using a shoulder connection for extra spin. Then we ended with an unusual take on the classic Basket where the lead connects with the follow's hips to redirect their momentum - guaranteed to keep you on your toes!
