I cut these three tunes after my band returned from Tokyo in October of this year. The demos featured programmed drums, to which I personalized and added flair. Notes: -1:55 - 16th to 8th trip fill-in -2:30 - dotted quarter 'straightens' to quarters to maximize vocal impact -5:37 - 6:01 - quasi-3-8 pattern between pedal hat and ride -6:11 - 8th trip to 16th double kick -6:25 - backbeat is placed unexpectedly -9:47 - 10:08 (as well as second chorus) - quarter-note urgency of the crash against the 3 feel is an enjoyable contrast I adore how well this material came out.
