I look over a lot of student drawings. The students themselves are assessing only whether their drawings look 'good' or not. But I'm much more interested in what they were trying to do than how well they did it. Some are just copying and don't want to move away from the results that gives. Others are making drawings that don't yet look great, but of those most are actually on the right track and I'm not worried about them at all.
