This wasn't just a wedding—it was a statement of love, sustainability, and cultural elegance. ✨ We made a conscious effort to honor nature and heritage: ❣️ Guests were gifted living plants — a herb, a fruit plant, and a table-friendly succulent—as a symbol of growth and giving. ❣️ Invitations were handcrafted with a wooden card and seed paper envelopes, letting love literally take root. ❣️ Our wedding cake, baked with love (and no alcohol) by my beloved mother, was beautifully packed in custom-carved wooden boxes. 💚 Our fashion reflected earthy sophistication: ❣️ I wore a green-hued suit, while Dr. Fazana stunned in an ivory white Pakistani lehenga. ❣️ For our second event, I wore an earth-toned kurtha, and she wore a shimmering opal green lehenga. ❣️ Our entourage wore silver/grey, and the bridesmaids styled opal green scarves for harmony and grace. 🌹 From red rose bouquets with baby’s breath, to bold bolo ties inspired by South American culture (a first in Sri Lanka!), every detail was a blend of meaning and creativity. 💬 Heartfelt speeches from family, including my brothers Asad, Azam, cousin sister Elmira, Dada, and dear friend Dr. Keerthana, added soul to the celebration. 🔊 To bring life to our celebration, we hired a young and energetic six-piece band featuring a talented lady vocalist—the same inspiring woman who played the trumpet during our entrance. Choosing this band was a conscious decision to support women-led talent and entrepreneurial spirit, believing in their ability, presence, and accountability in an industry often dominated by men. While the band wasn't led by a woman, her role was a defining reason behind our choice. 💐 Scented with Chanel N°5 (timeless and iconic perfume, renowned for being the first abstract fragrance with a complex blend of over 80 ingredients, including aldehydes, rose, jasmine, and sandalwood, creating a luxurious, elegant, and sensual scent that has symbolized confident femininity and classic sophistication since 1921—famously worn by icons and cherished for its minimalist bottle, French craftsmanship, and enduring legacy) and Dior Sauvage (crafted with Sri Lankan sandalwood), our day was both intimate and unforgettable.
