In today’s heavy machinery recovery breakdown, we are deep inside a rugged mountain mining site where a massive haul tractor suffered a catastrophic rear tire blowout on a narrow rock transport road. ​When operating on rough mountain terrain, jagged rocks and steep slopes constantly risk tire damage. Today, our big ballast tractor was hauling heavy loads when a rear tire blew out completely, dropping the steel rim directly onto the hard ground. To reach the site quickly, our mechanic team loaded their specialized mobile workshop rickshaw—fully equipped with tire levers, bead breakers, a portable air compressor, vulcanizing repair gear, and heavy tools designed for emergency field repairs. ​Lifting Challenge Resolved with Wheel Loader Arriving at the scene, the mechanics faced an immediate issue: the tire was completely flat, leaving zero clearance underneath the axle for a hydraulic jack. To solve this safely, we brought in our heavy Caterpillar wheel loader. Using its front bucket and hydraulic controls, we raised the tractor's rear end just enough to slide heavy wooden support blocks (gutka) and safety jacks under the axle. ​Tire Dismounting & Tube Replacement (ASMR) With the tractor secured, the mechanics used sledgehammers, tire irons, and bead breakers to separate the heavy tire from the rim. This sequence highlights pure mechanical ASMR—the crisp, natural sounds of iron tools, bead breaking, and idling engines. Upon pulling out the tube, we found it completely shredded from being crushed between the steel rim and sharp rocks. ​Cleaning, Fitting & Inflation Before inserting the new tube, the mechanics thoroughly cleaned rust, dirt, and rock particles from inside the tire to prevent fresh punctures. A new heavy-duty inner tube was installed, carefully aligned, and protected from pinching. Using manual tire irons, the bead was seated back over the rim.
