I'm converting my entire base to permanent structures and getting ready to properly train my newly captured thralls and pets for combat raids
Surviving the Exiled Lands in Conan Exiles!
YouTube video description:
Welcome back to another episode of Devredue with Conan Exiles, where I'm finally getting around to upgrading my temporary sand structures into proper hardened brick buildings. I know I said I'd get to this eventually, and well, eventually arrived with a vengeance.
I've been collecting resources like a madman lately, and in my last video I showed you all how to farm these thralls. Turns out I overdid it because I've got more of them than I know what to do with now. Speaking of which, I finally coaxed my Greater Rhinoceros out of hiding-he's been sitting way in the back doing absolutely nothing this entire time. The poor beast is still level zero and has never seen real combat as far as I can tell. Same goes for one of my wolves, who apparently decided to wander off a cliff somewhere because he's nowhere to be found.
The main event though? I've been slowly converting my buildings over from temporary sand structures to hardened brick, and it's been a painful process. Not because of the game mechanics-though those can be tedious-but because I'm doing this the hard way in survival mode with no cheats. The worst part? Getting everyone out of buildings before demolition so I can rebuild them properly. My thralls have this annoying habit of refusing to leave, so I've had to resort to destroying everything and rebuilding from scratch multiple times.
I've got the main base about 90% converted now, maybe closer to 100% if we're being honest. The flooring is all done, the crafting stations are in place, and even my bartender has stopped sobbing-well, he's still sobbing but at least he's working now. I upgraded Cassia's outfit because I needed something other than those standard yellow and red outfits everyone starts with, and Luba is still dancing away as usual. The bear I hired? Can't hire a bear apparently. Note to self: check the thrall hiring list before committing.
Out back, I'm building a little terrace area for wine storage and my map room, though I ran out of hardened brick halfway through. Turns out you need more than you think when building anything permanent in this game. The smithery is coming along nicely though, and I'm planning to add some median-level decorative stuff once I get everything else sorted.
The real frustration? Fast travel-or rather, the lack of it. You can fast travel one way but have to walk back, which means a half-hour trek across the map if I want to get anywhere quickly. Without enemies, that's bad enough. With enemies? Forget it. I really hate this limitation in the game.
Join me next time as I finish up this conversion project and maybe actually start enjoying my properly built base instead of constantly rebuilding everything. if you want to see more Conan Exiles content.
