Shortline Railfanning: CaterParrott Railnet - GP40 Trio on the Madison Branch

Watch in 4k for best quality We spend an early fall morning following the CaterParrott Railnet’s Madison Branch train south from Madison to Shady Dale, GA. In Shady Dale, the CPR interchanges with Norfolk Southern, which takes the cars to Macon to be sorted and sent out from their Brosnan Yard. In addition, the CPR’s E Line branches off in Shady Dale, which is used for storage cars. These cars primarily consist of Georgia Power Plant Scherer train sets, but on this date, train #15 pulled a string of tank cars out to be sent to NS along with the typical revenue freight traffic brought down from Madison. Enjoy the sights and sounds of small-town shortline railfanning with jointed rail of Southern and Central of Georgia heritage, rebuilt EMD GP40’s, various switching moves, and a friendly crew.
