Lake Mead has now risen 10 days in a row. Since hitting the lowest level ever recorded on October 22nd, the water behind Hoover Dam has climbed nearly two feet to 1,038.93, already about four feet above the government's own year-end forecast. All five Lake Mead launch ramps are still open, and crews are heading back into the water at Hemenway Harbor this month. But Hoover Dam has started releasing more water again, and Sunday's gain was the smallest of the streak. Is the rise about to end? In this update: • The 10-day streak, reading by reading from the Bureau of Reclamation • Where the water came from: flooded side rivers, Las Vegas runoff, and Hoover's release cut • Why Hoover's power output fell about 40% while the lake rose • All five launch ramps: Hemenway Harbor, Callville Bay, Echo Bay, Temple Bar and South Cove • The ramps Lake Mead has already lost, and the plan to push the rest down to 1,000 feet • The one number that matters for both boaters and Hoover's turbines • The 2027 and 2028 forecasts, and what to watch this week Data sources: U.S. Bureau of Reclamation daily reports, Reclamation's October 24-Month Study, the National Park Service (Lake Mead National Recreation Area), and local news reports. #LakeMead #HooverDam #ColoradoRiver #LakeMeadUpdate #LasVegas
