Secrets of War: Season 1 | The French Resistance (2000)

It’s so moving to see how a spirit of defiance can rise up from the lowest point of a national heartbreak. After the embarrassment of surrender, the French Resistance transformed into one of the most effective and incredibly brave fighting forces of the entire war. In this documentary, Charlton Heston walks us through the secret operations and the sheer courage it took for ordinary citizens to play such a key role in the liberation of France. It’s a powerful reminder of what people can achieve when they refuse to back down.
